Carolyn Barry grew up in Canada. In 2002 she left her engineering career and her beloved Canadian Rockies, moved to Alaska and got married. After several years of climbing expeditions, the arrival of three kids kept her closer to home where she needed to find a new outlet for her energy.
In 2010, after her husband gave her a triathlon magazine, she started racing and loved it. They now live in Australia where she is finding it much easier to train outside all year around. She hopes to move up to the 1/2 Ironman distance this year under the wonderful and knowledgable direction of Siri. Her longterm sights are on the full Ironman distance.
I just love how you do not schedule rest days and just let me take them when I really need to. When I am just exhausted and know I should rest, I can now do it with less guilt and I don’t feel like I am missing as much.
I also LOVE your rule to just start the workout if you are not sure how you feel. It has gotten me out of bed early in the morning many times already!
